Description
At UWCT, we aim to realise this mission by delivering a mindful, diverse education underpinned by our belief in the connection between a “Good Heart, Balanced Mind, and Healthy Body”.
Encircled by rubber tree plantations and virgin rainforest, United World College Thailand (UWCT) sits nestled in the foothills of Phuket’s green-capped mountains, away from the island’s busy city centres. Our unique location is both symbolic and intentional; a physical reminder that in addition to academic rigour, the UWCT community values wellness and environmental stewardship. From monitoring coral reefs to embedding positively focused mindfulness, the betterment of our students, our community, and our planet are at the centre of everything we do. Learning in a diverse community helps create opportunities for students to appreciate multiple perspectives, to understand the power of collaboration and communication in all its forms, and to experience first-hand that our similarities far outweigh our differences.
UWCT is considered UWC’s pioneer in embedding Social-Emotional Learning and Mindfulness (SEL&M) into our curriculum. Under the direction of our Mindfulness Mentor; our staff, students, and parents develop their ability to think and act mindfully using time and strategies inside and outside the classroom. Our educational model, balances five core areas of focus.
To round out our student’s educational experience, UWCT offers a tremendous array of Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) and Extracurricular Activities (ECAs). We believe these activities are a vital part of student life and learning. Our programme provides an opportunity to bring students and the wider community together for learning, competition, recreation, performances and sharing. These activities help to broaden each student’s experiences and enhance their learning by developing key skills including team work, confidence and self-management.
Due to our location adjacent to Thanyapura, one of Asia’s leading sports training and wellness facilities, our student body also includes elite swimmers and triathletes attracted by our ability to provide academic rigour and top-notch coaching.
At UWCT we know that physically challenging outdoor experiences have a powerful impact upon a young person’s intellectual, physical, spiritual, social and moral development. We also believe that in an age of growing digital entertainment, social isolation, and inactivity; the need for OE has never been greater. Each year, our students’ OE skills culminate in their grade-level expedition, from a sleepover at the school in Grade 1 to a self-planned, week-long independent service expedition in Grade 11.
UWCT students are committed to building deep and sustained connections with the local community. All secondary students engage in weekly, year-long service activities with local people and communities. These range from visiting homes and hospitals for the elderly and disabled, working with children with multiple disabilities, or teaching life skills to former domestic workers who have been victims of violence. Service provides students with the opportunity to put into practice their values on a daily basis. The Global Concerns Committee (GC) lies at the heart of UWCT service programme. It is a student-led and student-driven initiative.
Aligned with our mission and enabling ourholistic focus on mind, body and heart,UWCT uses the International Baccalaureate(IB) as its educational framework. As a fully authorized IB continuum school,UWCT offers the Primary Years Programmein Kindergarten to Grade 5, the Middle YearsProgramme from Grades 6-10, and theDiploma Programme in Grade 11 and 12.IB Diploma students complete six subjects:three at standard and three at higher level.Students also study Theory of Knowledge, submit an Extended Essay, and participate inCreativity, Activity and Service.

UWC Thailand's Arrowsmith Program is Our Silver Bullet. It's almost impossible to describe the relief we've felt at finding Arrowsmith at UWC Thailand. Prior to Arrowsmith, we'd been on an eight-year journey of rejection, disappointment, frustration and heartache. Everywhere we went, people wanted to put labels on our son, and if we didn't accept their labels, he was kicked out of school! Lex started at UWCT Arrowsmith in 2017 and it has been incredible. While he still has a long road ahead, we are certain that it was the right decision to throw everything at Arrowsmith, because Lex is blossoming and the results are truly astounding. We have a new kid! Arrowsmith has changed our life! We don't want any other parents to go through what we went through, so we encourage people to consider this program as a real option for their children. If you have a child no one can pin down, please, look into Arrowsmith. We believe Arrowsmith should be available to every child in every school around the world. It's our silver bullet. It might be yours too.

A community-based school that focuses on finding your true self by being able to happily relate to all parts of the puzzle—the wider human race irrespective of race religion or culture. By focusing on the brain-mind connection, nurturing your body and spirit on the path to self enlightenment.
— Ammar for UWC Thailand International School
A very progressive school, the students are lovely and I certainly expect some of them to be tomorrow's leaders. Or at least I hope! I just wish my daughter could have gone there, but she's
finished high school. My friends two daughter currently attend. I went to a cultural night and a colour run. I was also impressed by the facilities, internationally acclaimed sporting facilities.

UWC Thailand is the only IB continuum school in Phuket. The school weaves mindfulness into everything and takes advantage of the natural wonders of Phuket in their Education Outside the Classroom program. The clean air and warm weather make this an idyllic place for to raise a family.
