The First British-Branded Boarding School in Switzerland.
Founded on a history of academic excellence spanning 156 years, Malvern College Switzerland, a member of the Malvern College family, provides the best of British education in a unique and stunning Alpine location.
Leysin, often regarded as one of the most international villages in Switzerland, already enjoys a reputation as a hub for learning and academic success. The villages’ infrastructure is second-to-none with sports and activities for all seasons giving pupils a chance to engage in a vast variety of experiences rarely available in one location. For international pupils looking for a safe and rewarding academic experience as well as a wide range of co-curricular activities, it is the perfect option.
Malvern College Switzerland (MCS) pupils enjoy a rigorous and stimulating academic experience centred around the British national curriculum. The curriculum is available for pupils aged 11-18, offering Pre-IGCSEs, IGSCEs and A-Levels. MCS also offers a University Preparation Course to prepare school leavers for university life.
The vast majority of MCS pupils board, which makes for a tight-knit community of learners. MCS pupils are accommodated in spacious and recently renovated en-suite rooms which they share with one or two other pupils. Every pupil has their own workspace, access to kitchen facilities and can make use of all MCS’s on-campus facilities. Boarding house staff are on hand 24-7 to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and that pupils’ needs are looked after. Evening activities and weekend trips are routinely planned, and pupils enjoy a busy schedule outside of regular school hours.
Pupils are priority. Every school in the Malvern Family places the utmost importance on pupils’ well-being and happiness.
Malvern College Switzerland has three impressive Elite Sports Academies for sport-driven, skilled pupils, and places are limited. All academies are overseen and managed by our Head of Elite Sports and run with our qualified partners.
The Malvern College Switzerland Tennis Academy
This academy is for serious players looking to compete and represent MCS in various tournaments throughout the country and internationally. Run in collaboration with one of Switzerland’s best coaching teams, Leysin Tennis, pupil-athletes follow an intensive programme combining strength and conditioning, group training, personal training, technique-specific training, and competition. Players join the Swiss Tennis Federation through the Leysin Tennis Club and compete in local and national competitions. Each pupil is provided with an individual tennis and academic programme allowing them to succeed both on and off the court.
The Malvern College Switzerland Ski and Snowboard Academy
Situated in the heart of the Swiss Alps with ski slopes a mere 10 min walk away, MCS is the perfect home for avid skiers and snowboarders looking to compete in their discipline.
The MCS ski programme has been carefully designed by our Head of Elite Sports, Mrs. Donnah Clark who has over 20 years’ experience in the Swiss Ski competition circuit. Programmes designed according to age, skill, and the number of ski races in which each pupil-athlete competes. Pupils who opt for this intensive programme will be fully immersed in the world of Swiss Skiing. With the glacier a short 20-minute drive away from the campus, pupils can ski from September to April.
MCS allows offers three specific training camps. One during the October half-term break, one over the month of December whilst other pupils are on break and one during the February half-term.
The Malvern College Swimming Academy
Pupils who join the Swimming Academy follow an intensive schedule with training in the morning in Leysin, and evening training in Montreux. The morning training is a combination of strength and conditioning and swimming training supervised by MCS coaches whilst the evening is delivered by our partners, Montreux Natation, in Montreux about a 30 mins drive from Leysin.
All competition entries are organised and managed by our Head of Coaching, and routine reports are provided to parents regarding the progress being made.
