The Fairfax Christian School is the first K–12 school to receive the Presidential E–Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce for our work with the international community. Our university–prep Intensive English Institute (IEI) program prepares students for success in top universities in the United States and worldwide.
The school welcomes international students from across the globe. We accepted our first international student in 1963. In the 1970s, we added our Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program. In the 1980s, we began taking students into our homestay boarding program. The Fairfax Christian School is the premiere school for international students studying in the Washington, D.C., area. We accept students from Washington–based embassies and consulates, IMF, World Bank, international organizations, and businesses with employees in the Washington, D.C., area, and F–1 visa students.
International students fully integrate with our student body. Our faculty teach English language classes (ESL) during the school day, and all international students attend some classes without local students.
In 2018, the Fairfax Christian School moved to a new larger campus located in Dulles, Virginia, which provides students exceptional facilities in a tranquil environment. Just a five-minute drive from Washington-Dulles International Airport and a thirty-five drive from downtown Washington, D.C., the Fairfax Christian School is nestled in the safe Washington suburbs of northern Virginia.
The Fairfax Christian School is authorized to enroll international students who have received their F–1 U.S. student visa by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Rolling admissions are available for international students.

Fairfax Christian School (FCS) has been a great foundation for all my children. They are all excelling academically, thanks to the challenging curriculum at FCS. Thank you, FCS!
Fairfax Christian School is providing my son the academic challenges we feel we have missed at other schools. When he graduates, we feel he will be well prepared, academically, for college.
My years at FCS were highlighted by dedicated, excellent teachers whom I respected. The wealth of the information, the teachers, imparted has added value: they often enlivened class periods with stories and experiences from their own lives and spoke of the lessons they had learned. Many of those stories I have recounted to my sons through the years. I am grateful for memories and friendships with classmates that have lasted these many years.
Fairfax Christian School has been a spectacular learning environment for my daughter. Small class sizes, individual attention from the teachers, and a focus on fundamentals have instilled a real passion for learning. Equally importantly, the strong moral atmosphere of the school has reinforced her sense of right and wrong/good versus evil, something that will serve her long after her school days are over.
Thank you! Everyday I am amazed at how much my daughter has progressed and is learning. Every single person I’ve come into contact with is joyful and gracious. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity. My daughter’s teacher is absolutely amazing and my daughter is thriving. Your school is a testament to your dedication.
The international atmosphere at The Fairfax Christian School has been a tremendous blessing for my teenagers. They have learned a lot from their fellow students about other countries and cultures. I have also seen their sympathy and willingness to help and befriend people from different backgrounds grow enormously. We were attracted to the Fairfax Christian School by its rigorous academics, but the school culture has been an unexpected bonus.
The Fairfax Christian School is big enough to offer all the classes I want to take and small enough so it’s easy to talk to teachers when you need to.
The Fairfax Christian School is amazing. The administration and teachers care about our children. They teach more than just what’s in the textbook. They inspire students. Our children have learned self–discipline, responsibility, and kindness. The maturity of the Fairfax Christian School students far exceeds their peers at other schools. Fairfax Christian School gives students a love for learning, a desire to serve others and the leadership skills to succeed.
Fairfax Christian School’s Lower School is unbeatable. Nowhere will you find such a challenging program for the youngest ones. Kids read fluently in Kindergarten. They are drilled in the fundamentals of math and phonics. Class sizes are relatively small. Other schools just don’t cut it at the elementary level.
