説明
The American School of Milan has been educating international students from more than 50 countries for more than 50 years. The school offers a student-centered, American-style education that encourages children to develop their full potential, achieve personal excellence and become global citizens committed to lifelong learning.
We embrace the IB learner profile along with our school values of accountability, respect and empowerment. Technology is a key focus at ASM and an integral part of student learning.
Extra-curricular activities provide opportunities for leadership and personal growth. The ASM sports and after-school activities are designed to provide students with a variety of activities wherein students can learn new skills, develop their talents, and socialize with friends. The activities fall into three main categories: active, creative and academic. Students are encouraged to take the opportunity to participate in at least one activity during the school year. Elementary and Upper School students can choose from a menu of activities which is published and distributed to families each September. Recent activities have included small group tennis, fencing, gymnastics, chess, musical performances, cooking, math club, karate and much more. At the High School level, ASM varsity sports include cross-country, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton and soccer. Our teams travel to other schools around Italy to compete in games and tournaments. Other extra-curricular offerings include yearbook, musical performance, drama and dance.
ASM offers a wide variety of subjects, allowing me to understand what career path I wanted to take. I was introduced to the study of Psychology in 11th grade. Now I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Organisational Psychology. Because of the opportunities given and with all of the teachers’ continuous support, I was able to find my passion.

Joining ASM was the turning point of my school path. In addition to being an international school, ASM gives us the daily opportunity to be immersed in the American culture through activities ranging from sports, to NHS, to Model UN, to film making. This approach is implemented without jeopardizing the academic rigor.

I have worked at ASM for more years than I have spent anywhere else in my life. I was attracted here by the magical mystery of Italy in my first school outside of America and I have stayed here for 13 years. ASM is a place where I have grown professionally and as a person, a place that is never the same, constantly changing and growing.

ASM laid the foundation of the person I am today. It helped me become focused and driven. The friendly community and supportive culture of the school made the the two years of studying for the IB some of the best years of my life. I will forever hold the ASM values close to my heart.
