La Côte International School is a private international school located in Aubonne, Switzerland. A co-educational day school, we offer our students unmatched international learning opportunities, combined with truly personalised academic support and the highest standards in education, motivating each and every student to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Conveniently located between Lausanne and Geneva with a view of the Swiss Alps and Lac Léman, our modern campus features first-class facilities designed to inspire exceptional teaching and learning.
Our bespoke curriculum offers our students aged 2-18 the possibility of an English, French or bilingual route, following the Early Years Foundation Stage, a Primary curriculum incorporating aspects of the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum, and the IB MYP in Year 7-9, followed by the IGCSE and the IBDP in Secondary. Our broad choice of MYP and DP subjects allows students to focus on their strengths and fulfil their interests. In addition, we offer a preparatory Swiss Maturité programme.
As a member of Nord Anglia Education (NAE), the world’s leading premium schools’ organisation, we are proud to recruit the best internationally- and locally-trained teachers who are committed to nurturing and inspiring every child they care for. As dedicated and passionate professionals, they strive to support our students not just to succeed, but to flourish, both academically and personally.
As a result, our students achieve outstanding academic results. With an average IBDP score of 35 points in the academic year 2019-20, our graduates have all been accepted to their top choice university, including Russell Group or World Best universities.
As a school that embraces over 37 nationalities, we recognise the value of supporting our children to flourish within their own culture and language, and, through outstanding education and international opportunities unmatched by other schools in the area, we nurture in them the values, attributes and skills needed to help them shape the future.
For instance, our broad Performing Arts programme is strengthened by our collaboration with The Juilliard School. Our collaboration with MIT takes a real-world, hands-on approach to teaching STEAM subjects. With UNICEF, we raise awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and learn to create local solutions for global issues.
LCIS is led by Andy Puttock, formerly Global Education Director for NAE. With over 30 years of experience as an educator and leader, Mr. Puttock has been instrumental in driving NAE’s strategy for building an outstanding education for their students worldwide.
Extracurricular Activities (ECAs) are an integral part of the education offered at LCIS. Our programme is designed to extend existing learning opportunities beyond the classroom to give children a range of fun and challenging experiences that enhance the core curriculum. Our broad range of ECAs allow students from Year 1 to Year 13 to explore their interests and passions whilst developing themselves academically, physically, creatively and socially. Students can choose from a variety of ECAs including competitive and non-competitive sports, arts and crafts, performing arts, technology and subject- specific clubs. In addition to our ECA programme, we have our After School Care provision for those families requiring an extended school day. Students can complement their musical curriculum with private lessons onsite. A number of independent music teachers work closely with our Director of Performing Arts to offer lessons in a range of instruments to students of all ages at LCIS. LCIS embraces the opportunity for children from Year 1 to learn to ski as part of our curriculum. In additions, educational field trips are an integral part or our offer beyond the classroom.
It’s time to say goodbye and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone!!! The teachers didn’t just educate our kids. You all taught them the importance of education. We are grateful to you. You were kind, patient and considerate, but played the stickler when you needed to. You have played a key role in moulding our children into good human beings and they will miss so much about LCIS. Thanks a lot for your support. All the best and Auf Wiedersehen

Teachers are resourceful and creative in finding the most amazing ways to develop our children’s curiosity and they really make learning afun activity for kids to pursue. I have visited many schools in the area and I have yet to see the quality of teachers like the ones in Foundation Years at La Côte.
